Tailor's Clapper

A Tailors Clapper is a great tool for achieving flat, crisp seams for your project. 

How it works: After a seam, pleat or crease is pressed with heat and steam from your iron, lift away your iron and place the clapper over the area.  A clapper works to remove the heat and steam from your seam or crease as it is holding it flat.  For best results your fabric should be cooled and dry when your remove the clapper, so be sure to hold it over the seam for as long as needed.  Once cool and dry the seam will maintain its crisp finish.

Of course using a clapper to press your work will add time to any project, but keep in mind a well pressed seam makes a noticeable difference on your final project.
