Learn Sewing for Total Beginners

This is a course for total beginners that want to learn basic sewing. If you want to learn to sew, but maybe garments don't interest you, this is the course for you. We will teach you how to set up and operate a sewing machine along with basic sewing techniques.
We will make the following:
- A simple tote bag
- A pillow case
- A zipper pouch
All supplies for this workshop are included.
Instructor: Robin Blodgett
Length: 4 week course, Tuesday evenings 6:00 to 8:30: March 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st. If a class is missed due to weather or illness, make up classes will be Wednesday March 25th.
Cost: $310, ALL SUPPLIES ARE INCLUDED.
In this workshop you will learn the following:
- Know your sewing machine
- How to read a basic pattern
- Cutting skills
- Understanding fabric and how to select the right fabric for a project
- Pressing skills
- Seam finishes
Level: Total Beginner
Prerequisite: An ambition to sew!
We provide sewing machines and all the materials required for this course. If you would like to bring your own machine you are welcome to do so.
This Class will be held in person at The Soda Plant, 266 Pine Street - Studio 107.

Class Policies
Age: Adult
Class size: Minimum 3 students are required to sign up. If minimum is not met refunds will be provided.
Cancellations: Cancellations must be done 2 weeks in advance to receive a refund.
Make-up classes: One make up class will be provided per month. Make up classes are for snow days and sick days, please do not sign up for class if you know you cannot attend all dates.
You are responsible for having the prerequisite skills listed for enrollment.
All supplies are included in the cost of the class. Pickup up all supplies (Including fabric and patterns) 1 week before the first class.
