The Ilma sewing pattern includes two variations: an airy off-the-shoulder mini dress, and a cute A-line top. Both variations feature a wavy, tiered hemline and an elasticated neckline. The dress variation has wrist-length puff sleeves with gathered sleeve openings. The top comes with ruffle shoulder straps. You can also make a sleeveless dress with shoulder straps, or sew the top with puff sleeves and off-the-shoulder neckline. Both variations are maternity friendly.

MATERIALS & SUPPLIES

Dress

• 7 mm (1/4”) elastic, 2 x your shoulder circumference + 45 cm (18”)

Top

• 1 cm (3/8”) bra strap, 76 cm (30”)

• 7 mm (1/4”) elastic, see the fabric requirement table

• 3 cm (1 1/8”) knit bias binding, 75 cm (30”)

FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS

Choose a non-stretch, light to medium weight fabric. Depending on the desired result, you can opt for an airy low-drape fabric, such as a light linen, or an organic cotton, or a more drapey one, like tencel or rayon.
