Class description:  Welcome to Seams and Seam Finishes where we will be exploring different seam finishes using woven fabric for the purpose of garment sewing.

Instructor: Robin Blodgett

Length: 1.5 hours

Sunday, May 4th 10:30 to 12:00

Please arrive early for set up.

Cost: $45

Level: Beginner

Prerequisite: Skills: How to Operate a Sewing Machine or the equivalent skill

What you will need to bring:

  • Your own sewing machine in working order and the manual (be sure to include the foot pedal, presser foot attachments, a full bobbin with coordinating thread and power cords)
  • Sewing machine needles - universal
  • Snack

We will provide:

  • Fabric scraps to practice seams

This class will be taught in person at The Soda Plant, 266 Pine Street - Studio 221.  Enter to the left of Haymaker.

Class Policies

Age: 14 and up

Class size: Minimum 3 students are required to sign up.  If minimum is not met refunds will be provided.

Cancellations: Cancellations must be done 2 weeks in advance to receive a refund. 

Make-up classes: One make-up class is included with class registration.  If additional make-up classes are required at the students request there is an additional fee of $50. All make-up classes will be held Wednesday's 5:45 to 8:30.  Be sure to schedule make-up classes in advance,  multiple projects will likely be taught at this time.

Fabric Policy: We want our students to have the greatest chance for success and therefore strongly recommend buying fabric with our assistance.  When you buy fabric from us we will work with you to match the right fabric to your skill level and your project goals. 

Sewing Machine Maintenance: While we are able to help with minor troubleshooting on your machine, our focus needs to remain on advancing the class. Please be sure your machine is in working order, to get the best possible experience out of this class. 

If you do not have the prerequisite skills required you will need to schedule a private session prior to the class.

This class will be taught in person at The Soda Plant, 266 Pine Street - Studio 221.  Enter to the left of Haymaker Bun.  Our studio is on the second floor, no elevator is available.
