Class description:  Welcome to Intro to Sewing, this two session course is for the absolute beginner.  We will cover the fundamentals of operating a sewing machine including threading the machine, understanding the various stitch options and settings, needle types and feeding fabric through your machine.  

In this course you will sew a simple market tote bag, this project will teach you how to cut and prepare fabric for sewing and how to follow pattern instructions.

Length: 2 classes - 2.5 hours

October 6th 5:30pm - 8:00pm
October 13th: 5:30pm - 8:00pm


Cost: $80 ($40/ class).  Cancellations must be done 72 hours in advance.

Level: Absolute Beginner

Age: 14 and up

Class size: 4 students

What you will need to bring:

  • Your own sewing machine in working order and the manual (be sure to include the foot pedal, presser foot attachments, an empty bobbin and power cords)
  • 1 yard of mid-weight fabric - pre-washed (this can be purchased at the first class)
  • All-Sew polyester thread
  • Sewing machine needles - universal
