Description: In this class we will be sewing the Burnside Bibs by Sew House 7.  The Burnside Bibs are a versatile overalls pattern that can be dressed up or down. Shoulder straps transition to narrow ties with several options for tying.

We will be making version #2 which features a loose back pant that slips on over your hips and does not have a closure to sew. This version is fuller and more gathered in the back. Use your hip measurement to determine your size for version #2.

This pattern also features a front waistband, curved front patch pockets, optional back pockets, and cross-back straps that transition to narrower ties that thread through back waist belt loops forming back waist gathers. They may be tied in many ways - at the back, front or sides. The wide leg can be made full length or cropped.

    Length: 3 classes - 2.75 hours

    June 1st, 8th and 15th  - 5:45 pm to 8:30pm

    Cost: $160, price includes a $20 credit towards fabric and supplies at Stash.  Cancellations must be done 72 hours in advance.
  • Level: Intermediate

  • Prerequisite: Intro to Garment Sewing (or the equivalent skills).  You will need to know how to take your measurements, select your size and cut pattern pieces.

    Age: 14 and up

    Class size: 4 students. Minimum capacity of 3 students is required, if this is not met refunds will be provided.

    What you will need to bring:

    • Your own sewing machine in working order and the manual (be sure to include the foot pedal, presser foot attachments and power cords)
    • Fabric washed and pattern pieces cut out of fabric.  If you need additional assistance cutting your fabric please reach out.
    • All-Sew polyester thread
    • Sewing machine needles - universal.
    Recommended Fabric: For a dressed up version choose light to mid-weight woven fabrics such as Tencel, linen, wool gabardine, or sand-washed silk.  For a casual version choose denim, canvas, or cotton twill.

  • We no longer allow outside fabric in our classes.  We arrived at this decision because we want our students to have the greatest chance for success.  When you buy fabric from us we will work with you to match the right fabric to your skill level and your project goals.  Thank you for your understanding.
