Advanced Beginner: Slippers (Starts Dec 6th)

Description: This slipper is cozy and warm with a wool batting core.  The pattern includes sizing for all genders, adults and kids making this a great gift for everyone on your list (and don't forget to make a pair for yourself)!

Recommended Fabric:

For the shell fabric we recommend corduroy, canvas or denim.  For the lining we recommend flannel, rib knit also required for the heel.

We want our students to have the greatest chance for success and therefore strongly recommend buying fabric at Stash with our assistance.  When you buy fabric from us we will work with you to match the right fabric to your skill level and your project goals. 

Length: 2 classes - 2.75 hours, 5:45pm to 8:30pm

Thursday’s: December 6th and 13th

Cost: $100 - Cancellations must be done 2 weeks in advance.

Level: Advanced Beginner

Prerequisite: You will need to know how to operate your sewing machine, trace and cut a pattern, cut fabric.

If you do not have the prerequisite skills you will need to schedule a private session prior to the class.

 

Age: 14 and up

Class size: 5 students. Minimum capacity of 3 students is required, if this is not met refunds will be provided.

What you will need to bring:

  • Your own sewing machine in working order and the manual (be sure to include the foot pedal, presser foot attachments and power cords)
  • Fabric washed, dried and ironed (can be purchased as a kit at Stash)
  • Printed Pattern: Nordik Slippers designed by Jalie (available for purchase at Stash)
  • Tracing Paper, we recommend Easy Pattern
  • All-Sew polyester thread
  • Sewing machine needles - universal.
  • 3/8" elastic

This Class will be held in person at The Soda Plant, 266 Pine Street - Studio 221.  Enter to the left of Tomgirl.

Class Policies

Age: 14 and up

Class size: 5 students.

Cancellations: Cancellations must be done 2 weeks in advance to receive a refund.  All make-up classes will be held Friday's 5:45 to 8:30.  Be sure to schedule make-up classes in advance,  multiple projects will likely be taught at this time.

Sewing Machine Maintenance: While we are able to help with minor troubleshooting on your machine, our focus needs to remain on advancing the class. Please be sure your machine is in working order, to get the best possible experience out of this class.
